I absolutley loved this album. I was pretty dissapointed with Death Cult Armagedden, so i was a lttle skeptical in getting this album. Do yourself a favor and by this album. You will not regret it. It is by far their best album since Enthrone Darkness Triumphant, maybe even better.

Weak production and hapless songwriting abound on this ill-conceived album. Any remnant of the harsh darkness this band once espoused is long gone and all that remains is the idea of "metal + orchestration", a meager substitute for good music. There are good moments, and it's not totally different from anything Dimmu have done, it's just totally uninspired.

This album is really bland, boring and uninspired by any standard, black metal or not.
Sounds like a bunch of simple guitar riffs and blast beats put together without much sense.
PEM, DCA and Abrahadabra are much, much better.

I'm ready to give everyone a fair chance to impress. If you gave a long-necked guitar to someone suffering the effects of thalidomide drugs, I would listen through a couple of times before commenting. This, however, is tuneless, tedious wankery. I am more inclined to purchase the new Amputated album, 'Gargling With Infected Semen'.

Dimmu Borgir's first try at a concept album turns out to be a tedious hit-or-miss affair even though the story is actually pretty interesting. The instrumental parts really save this album from being boring as hell.

This album is certainly a breath of fresh air to me, considering the monotony and boredom of thier past few releases. The band clearly shows a very consise, straightforward theme, well-written music, and potent delivery, and a sound very clear and unique for the band. The best DB release to date.

This album may not cotain the same sound as some of their past albums because of lack of orchestra, but it is still awesome just because it is the same band producing the same amazing music and it kind of shows that their main focus isn't really on incorporating the orchestra into their music, its playing straightforward metal.

This album is good, but not that great. The lyrics on this albums are kid of cheesy and therefore suck, and it gets pretty boring. The keyboards and guitars are really good along with the vocals. The Conspiracy Unfolds and the Scarilegious Scorn are pretty good songs though. This is more of a concept album, so you have to give them credit for trying. Get Enthrone Darkness Triumphant and the other one with the really long name. This is more for Dimmu Borgir fans.
