I bought this cd out of curiosity because the rating here was so high, even though I have never heard of them before. This band is such a different kind of sound, it's almost like a bunch of different genres all in one. I love this cd to death it's definately one of my favorites. It's been in my cd player non stop since I got it, highly recommended for everyone who likes metal with a bit of an open mind

a vast improvement over life is killing me. its much more up tempo and agressive than their other stuff, but it still features the signature type o negative melodrama. its not their best album, but its great. it may put you off at first but trust me, after a few listens, it grows on you.
september sun, off this new cd, is one of TON's best songs ever. the only meh track IMO, is the profits of doom.

If you did not enjoy any of Type O's previous works you aren't going to enjoy this one much either as this more or less takes the speed/thrash/hardcore elements of "Slow, Deep and Hard", the more gothic feel of "October Rust" and the depressing doom-ish feel of "World Coming Down" and combine this into one entire album.
From start to finish there is much variety yet absolutely no tracks that could be termed as 'filler' here. A few of my favourites would probably be the title track, which kicks off the album at a speedy pace and is kind of reminiscent to an improved "I Don't Wanna Be Me", "Hail and Farewell to Britain" which contains many Sabbath-type riffs and "September Sun", perhaps my very favourite which is 7-8 minutes of sheer Type O 'gothic' beauty.
As great as Bloody Kisses and October Rust?? I might not go that far at this point, but still great.

This album is undeniably different from other TypO albums. It's infectious, it stays true to their sound, but at the same time it's more "commercial." It's like Pink Floyd meets Black Sabbath.....except with pete's humor and unique vocals. Kenny really stands out on this CD, unlike on others. "September Sun," and "Some stupid tomorrow," are recommended.
