5.0 classic | Snowdog808 | March 3rd 18 | A fusion answer to A Love Supreme by the late, great John Coltrane, Pat Metheny delivers one of the signature jazz masterpieces three decades out of his prime. The solos are plentiful and intricately constructed while not overtaking the overall arrangement, and Metheny beautifully orchestrates instruments such as trumpets and vibes that generally have not been associated with jazz fusion since Miles Davis' vanguard albums of the subgenre. All these epic structures are all the while glued together with a fairly simple yet effective and memorable motif that the listener is recalled to in all four movements.

4.5 superb | XfingTheSullen | December 5th 11 | A great sonic journey with a theme in mind, more emotional than a symphony most pompous - a definite must listen for all fans of jazz in all forms.
