While I've always found post-hardcore to be a genre that usually delivers pretty solid results, I can't think of too many actual albums I would recommend. Quicksand's second album is def one of them. Look, it's not perfect by any means, especially as it tends to get bogged down in monotony towards the very end, but I found Manic Compression to be really entertaining. It bounces between heavy and psychedelic sounds throughout, and even the slower parts have good energy. There's some real ugly hardcore on display, and some sections that are straight up pretty. Lots of memorable riffs, breakdowns and vocals, Manic Compression is one of the 90's best kept secrets.
