It's hard to describe the kind of feels I get from listening to this... there are black metal sections that make me feel hatred and despair, and there are more clean sections that make me feel reflective and empty inside, but with a subtle hint of hope and reassurance as well... then there are sections that combine the two with the tortured vocals layered on top of more beautiful clean guitar tones. Truly remarkable album.

Sunny vibes. This is probably the best blackgazey album I've heard since Deafheaven's stuff.

without the BM features this would still be a great indie/rock album :D

I know that a lot of albums within the post black metal genre have songs that sound similar but this is just ridiculous. You could listen to this whole album and never know the song ever changed because that's how much each songs the same. Deadwood have a good sound but next time they make an album they need to add more variety.

Not the biggest fan of post/black metal, but I have to admit that Deadwood have their way of exploiting the dynamics of the genre for their own benefit. Their recipe (the same found in bands like Entropia) works well, but nevertheless it's exactly the same in each and every song. For some reason and imho, a more lo-fi/coarse sound (and I'm talking about bands like Oranssi Pazuzu) would grant the band more character. Stream: http://deadwoodvoid.bandcamp.com/
