The local music spot on my list easily goes to "On the Mend" by my friend's band, Scarlett Avenue. My old band released an EP this year that looks like it was written by toddlers and recorded with the intent of selling out my mom's house in comparison to "On the Mend." Scarlett Avenue have been around for a few years and are super talented dudes. They gave my band our first "big" show, in support of their Creekside EP, and we played lots of shows with them until we broke up. They put this album out in the summer, and it's pretty flawless for a local act. Out of a huge amount of Pop Punk bands in the San Diego scene, I think Scarlett Avenue has the best chance of making it a career, if they wanted to. My favorite song is "Knots," and "Weeks" is tied with "Remedy" for a super close second. These dudes are incredible, and I back them hard.
