The Weakerthans may have gone on to make better albums since their 1997 debut, but Fallow still contains some great, unique music from the Canadian band. John K Samson's first album after leaving Propagandhi is full of his signature witty, poetic lyrics and light, radiant voice through poppy riffs and catchy, upbeat songs (Letter Of Resignation), more punky songs (Confessions Of A Futon-Revolutionist) and at times slower, mellow tunes (None of the Above, Fallow) that drifts a little away from his punk rock past, but succeeds at it.
