| 4.0 excellent | Trey STAFF | August 29th 14 | Cannibal Corpse have been working towards A Skeletal Domain ever since they added George Fisher on vocals back in 1995. His addition allowed them to move towards a more rhythmic and dynamic direction Chris Barnes’ deep grunts just wouldn’t have fit. Including Pat O’Brien (ex-Nevermore) on lead guitar in 1997 only solidified that direction and allowed them to also start including random bouts of technicality. A Skeletal Domain is definitely a death metal album, but it also pushes some boundaries. Cannibal Corpse have pushed the technicality of their songs without forgetting the brutality or speed fans have come to expect. They have also added a thrash element that periodically rears its head before being murdered by another blast beat and atonal guitar solo. Together all of these elements have created a Cannibal Corpse album that is darker and more chaotic than normal, but that is somehow probably their most accessible.

| 4.0 excellent | Jared Floryan | September 14th 14 | Cannibal Corpse offer a sickeningly delightful album in A Skeletal Domain, featuring some of Corpsegrinder's most brutal growls and quite a bit of distinctivity in regards to the musicianship. I'd say now is the time to say goodbye to getting fucked by a knife, and hello funeral cremations!

| 3.0 good | Eggnog Addict | October 4th 21 | album cover is epic, music isnt bad either, combining newer and older sounds. corpse going for more throaty shouts is nice, course that doesnt make it any better than what it is, admire the grooves on asphyxiate though. you know what im gonna give this a 3, there exists another decent corpse album

| 0.0 | BMDrummer | September 16th 14 | Damn, this was better than I ever would've thought it would be. Of course CC is always slightly above average these days, but this is their best in a while. Plus, the cover is better just about everything they've done so far. Musically though, it's still always brutal, always gory, and always evil. This time with slightly more evil though, mainly due to the darker melodies. CC is as CC does.

| 3.5 great | GamamJ | June 11th 20 | Yop 3 CG CC. It might even be the best, but I would have to relisten to my other faves to be sure. Regardless, since approximately The Wretched Spawn, CC have been adding more and more very welcome technicality into their music. Torture showed a huge upswing, and here it is seen even more. Additionally, the album is their most consistent in years, production is less muddy, and one of metal?s best bassists, Alex Webster can actually be heard. This makes for CC?s best on a looong time!

| 3.0 good | Arditi | June 18th 19 | FIRE UP THE CHAINSAW! Skeletal Domain has some awesome riffs especially in "Kill or Become". "Icepick Lobotomy" is awesome and hilarious.

| 4.0 excellent | Risodo | March 8th 18 | "Skeletal Domain" is the record that marked the band's only progressive period, which began with "Evisceration Plague", and became clearer in "Torture". The impact and legady that Cannibal Corpse has built in music is colossal. They never released a bad record (taking away Gore Obsessed which is pretty dubious). Also, the cover is very conceptual and free for arguments, removing for a few years that old fame of violent and dark covers that have made the band even more so in the scene.

| 3.7 great | Voivod STAFF | December 28th 14 | Since 2006, Cannibal Corpse have been making a conscious effort in escaping the old school death metal "bulkiness" that characterized their previous releases. A Skeletal Domain sees the band diversifying its core characteristics through technical playing, the adoption of thrash metal and finally, the relative modernization of the sound production. The album works well as a whole, as relatively few tracks ("High Velocity Impact Spatter", "Sadistic Embodiment", "Funeral Cremation") kind of stand out from the lot.
