First time I heard this I was blown away. 20 years later I'm still picking up my pieces off the floor.

A technical masterpiece. Immensely futuristic in its composition and yet still retains the charm and tone of the 80's. Shame about the cover song, but the rest of the album is so well crafted that it honestly doesn't matter.

Catchy, uber technical, and more than headbangable, Toxik's Think This is a progressive thrash album that'll leave your pants soaked with semen and/or vaginal fluids for days. Thrash out to Spontaneous, wrap your head around Technical Arrogance's complexity, never forget the mega memorable chorus to Machine Dream, or check out the amazing power ballad There Stood the Fence. And not only is the music good, but it's all (mostly) held together by the concept of society and the media, and the way the media reinforces things in society, and the occasional hypocrisy presented by society/the media's messages...and stuff. This framework is brilliantly reinforced through the use of ads. For example, "Shotgun Logic", about substance abuse/addiction, begins with the classic "This is your brain on drugs" ad, followed by a beer commercial, showing our culture's clashing attitudes on things like drugs and alcohol. Another song, "Machine Dream", is about how advertisements reinforce certain beliefs about body image and self worth. A cookie commercial is played, followed by the sounds of one of those old fashioned exercise tapes, to demonstrate the innate hypocrisy of the advertisements you see and hear on TV and the radio...and stuff. With lyrics that are (mostly) still relevant today and music that'll ALWAYS rip, Toxik's sophomore album is a classic for any fan of thrash or progressive metal.
^I wrote this in high school and while it's pretty stupid, everything I said about how good this is remains completely true.

This is insanely good. Very progressive, yet very catchy and very original. Puts a large amount of metal, let alone thrash, bands to shame.

This is one of the greatest thrash metal gems I've found in my life. I'd given World Circus a listen, but this album manages to be immensely progressive and also very disturbing at times like the title track. Overall this is one of the best thrash metal albums you've most likely not heard of.

The criticism of the media and the whole communicative corporation is very intense here, living up to the style and legacy of the band. One of the best albums in Thrash Metal history, "Think This" is not perfect because of some screams that sound from a band of Hair Metal and the little appeal in the weight of the instruments, that would marry well with the concept of the songs.

A tech/prog. thrash metal masterpiece, Toxik up the ante in musical progression from their wonderful debut and make one of the genre's most lyrically and musically complex records. Vocalist Charles Sabin may lack the sheer energy of Mike Sanders, but his more controlled yet impressive singing and falsetto fits better with the tighter songcraft here. Opening title track is a tech. thrash masterpiece stuffed with intricate riffs, various tempo changes, buildup solos, and an eerie anti-commercialism vibe that other bands of the time didn't quite perfect that they nail here (the synthesizers are tastefully done and add to the cold vibe of the album). "Greed," "Shotgun Logic," and especially "Sponaneous" embrace their trend-following political themes far better than their brethren at the time as well while displaying kickass riffs, memorable vocal lines, and almost unorthodox song structures. "Spontaneous" may be the album's highlight here with a well-placed advertisement sample, the best riffs on the album, and a career highlight vocal performance from Charles Sabin. "There Stood The Fence" is a terrific thrash ballad that follows the footsteps of Metallica's "Fade To Black." The production and a second guitarist are the icing to the cake and allow the ambitious vision of mastermind John Christian to come to life, and the result is a masterwork of technical/progressive thrash metal and perhaps a notable influence on prog. metal.

Pretty cool album. could be a 4 if the stupid ads were taken out, their distracting and kind of annoying. Also I'm not really a big fan of the vocal style on most the songs, he sounds really good in the ballad though

Musically spectacular and politically charged, Think This is the definition of what one would call thinking man's thrash. With that, Think This is more than qualified to share the top three thrash pedestal with Mental Vortex and Victims of Deception.
