| 1.5 very poor | falt | May 28th 18 | This album is not very interesting to the average listener. Vocals are a monstrocity.
Mixing is not the best. Instrumentation is ALMOST the simplest it ever was in this band.
Mainly, the vocals present itself as an overly Fear Factory influenced mess. The talk
before tHE SCREAM and EVERY othER woRD is Half SCREAmed. Either that or very drawn out
high-mid screams that sound absolutely awful. Lyrics feel lazy, instrumentation is
drowned out by the screams and chorus' in mixing so most of what you hear is just muddy
bass behind this underdeveloped vocalist. Wholly nothing outstanding about this album
besides *maybe* two or three songs. If you were to separate individual tracks and listen
to them, they wouldn't be too bad, but together they just don't flow or sound
interesting. It's like someone who doesn't know how to write writing alot to compensate
but instead this band thought if they were louder that would fix their problems. If there
was a reason for someone to hate this band, this would be it. But even then, to judge a
band on one work is treason to metal.

| 3.0 good | Jared Floryan | March 16th 15 | For the longest time, Mnemic have worshiped the very ground that Swedish experimental metal act Meshuggah have walked on. Polyrhythmic guitar sections, djent-inspired chugging, and poisonous shouts supplied by the former were influenced by the latter band, although these elements haven't necessarily dominated their catalog. Mnemic know how to incorporate a sense of entertaining melody into their cold, harsh sound - and this is represented via studio album #3, Passenger. Released in 2007, it was the first Mnemic release to feature Guillaume Bideau as the vocalist in place of Michael Bogballe. The band's formula hasn't changed much from the first two offerings and the instrumental power is comparatively lacking this time around, but the recording does stand fine on its own overall. Guillaume's growls are beastly throughout a good portion of it, while his clean voice is certainly a tolerable characteristic, even if Michael Bogballe was capable of employing slightly more distinctive singing.

| 2.5 average | SkapalPes | June 25th 14 | Sounds quite nice in the background, `cause of it`s good sound and production, but when you listen to it more carefully, you will find one over-sung and over-screamed album with more than enough ideas taken from bigger acts like Fear Factory or Meshuggah supplied with some mediocre metalcore refrains, and it`s not well-knit either.
