Classic thrash album re-recording once again ruins the songs. I mean they're barely recognisable - which one is Thrashers? Worse than Exodus releasing Let There Be Blood

This album unleashes the true potential of Lana. Even though the themes kinda feel worn out (seriously Lana, you can change the subject of your songs other than older guys, money and drugs now, it's okay), everything is so beautifully realised that it doesn't really affects in a negative way. Her voice is awesome and the instrumentals are finally powerful enough to keep up with it. Excellent album from Mrs. Del Rey!

Heard a few songs from her a year or so ago and honestly can't remember a thing about a single one, so I went into this with no expectations. Ditching most of the electronics was a good move. This is some straight up reverb laden dream pop bliss.

And lo, women worldwide cringe even harder. I'd feel more at ease if it wasn't for how good the songwriting on Born to Die was; this is probably the most disappointed I've been with an album for a long time. It's not just within the music itself, while the beats are more lifeless and lazily put together in a haze of reverb, but with Lana's character. I could indulge in the character of the debut because I submitted to an idea that there was a smarter, more intelligent women behind it, coyly playing up to male fantasies with a sense of intrigue. But here the character is revealed to be more vacuous, more air-headed than it's predecessor. It's the lyrics that frustrate the most - "he hit me and it felt like a kiss" - yeah, you're really not all that bright are you Lana .

Lana's poorly written lyrics are paired with bland vocals drowned in reverb, track after track after track. The instrumentals are well made, but uninspired and don't really seem to move the album along in a meaningful way.

Less diverse but solid effort by Lana del Rey. I like the dreamy/gazy atmosphere and the rtop-notch production. Great album if not so focused on the lyrical content. In my opinion, rbetter than Born to Die, but only just. Would've given 4 (or higher) if she didn't only sing rabout her boyfriend(s), drugs, being crazy and being mistreated all the time.
