What the worn phrase 'Trouble In Paradise' means this time around is the sleek tropical paint on the cover and the synths comes off with even the softest touch. What lies beneath is no sunny beach, but a deceivingly sparse album of focused pop where most melodies and flourishes stick out better than you'd expect.

While keeping to a modern pop outfit, La Roux seems to take a nostalgic turn (most notably The Human League) to her music. This isn't a bad thing, it might have been what was missing in their Debut.
