I want to like this album more than I do. It is full of brilliant moments, amazing
atmospheres and textures, bouncy rhythms, and unexpected twists. Unfortunately the
atmospheres, while brilliant, do lose their potency long before overly long sections
finally transition into the next compelling riff. Essentially the album is full of really
cool moments and ideas that overstay their welcome in meandering song structures. I have
hope the next album will be better, the single (which got me to check out the band)
seemed to have more agency, hopefully the band has learned from the mistakes that have
crippled this otherwise brilliant album.
