At their best, A.C. are funny, heavy, provocative, and quite unique. Top 40 Hits is none of the above. It may well rank as the worst A.C. album. Not even the song titles are as funny as their others - "Living Colour Is My Favourite Black Metal Band" being one of the funnier ones here. It's hardly "Johnny Violent Getting His Ass Kicked By Morrissey" or "Everyone In The Underground Music Scene Is Stupid", is it? There aren't even any attacks on Brutal Truth here. For shame.
There's some sort of vague concept to the album, in that the 'hits' of the title are demonstrated either by cover versions of actual hit singles, or actual hits, in the violent sense. "Some Hits", "Some More Hits", and "Even More Hits" are just recordings of silly sound effects of things being hit. Incidentally, the covers are easily the best songs on the record - their Oi! version of "Staying Alive" being the highlight.

Some of these songs are covers of actual Top 40 Hits ("American Woman"), but the results aren't as funny as you would expect. Really, nothing on here is any good. The recording quality is bad and Seth Putnam's vomitorium vocals get annoying fast. The best part is the song titles ("Living Colour Is My Favorite Black Metal Band").

Stayin Alive is a song I REALLY hate,but this band was able to make it listenable lol,also yeah they?re ridicolous "Flower Shop Guy" might be the most ridicolosu death metal/grindcore ever

Atmospheric, yes. Interesting, yes. But this album just simply does not hold enough weight in its entirety. There are plenty of interesting moments, but the ridiculously overproduced nature of the whole becomes annoying and the whole thing goes downhill. The instrumentation is decent black metal fare and the clean vocals are very annoying. A let down with some strong points, but not enough to save it from all of its shortcomings.
