Black Metal has never been this bright. Aura is a beyond spectacular follow up to Saor's previous outing, Roots.
Unlike last time though, the black metal elements are more at the forefront here, transporting you to an epic
battle on the Scottish hillsides. Quite possibly my album of the year. 4.8/5

This album has thought me to not judge a person on a singular work. Who would have thought that Andy Marshall, the mastermind behind the abomination of Falloch, would eventually release this beauty? I most certainly hadn't, and I'm certainly not the only one.

As expected, superb. After Roots it's hard not to get hyped by any material he releases, and as usual he delivers. Aura was one of the most anticipated albums of the year for me so I might sound a bit biased, but yes, it is that good.

This album is so fucking good. Seriously. It will leave you amazed and breathless. Never
have I heard such a beautifully crafted black/folk album like this. It whisks you away to a
different world in its sorrowful yet triumphant atmosphere. The black metal elements are a
bit heavier. The riffs are brought for sure this time around. They didn't fall into the
sophomore slump, nope... what they did is completely exceed their debut. Get this album.

If you've never been to Scotland, this is what it sounds like. This one is a bit more aggressive than Forgotten Paths, thanks in part to Lunn's drums, which are as always immediately recognizable, pounding ahrd and adding that amateur raw sound. However, there are less "epic" moments where the Celtic instruments take the cake, which personally attract me more than the rest, 'cause the rest is "merely" good atmobm.
