After a four year hiatus Sage is back with his most emotional, technically accomplished album since Personal Journals. Following on from examples set by peers El-P and Aesop Rock, Sage Francis combines his usual visceral testosterone-tempered-with-touching-vulnerability lyrical stylings with improved production and a sense of invigoration not heard since his early days. Make Em Purr is simply heartbreaking.
