3.5 great | earlygrave | March 17th 14 | I thought this was the best record they could have done with Craig coming back into the fold, personally I think Illuminaudio was/will be the best chiodos record. This record is every diverse and the songs are written well, it has a very eerie vibe throughout which I enjoy. I knew Erak wasn't going to be shredding like in TFOT but I expected much more lead licks from him, 75% of the time you can't even tell the difference between the lead/rhythm guitar.

1.0 awful | batuhan altinbas | March 26th 14 | This is probably one of Chiodos's most unmemorable, poorly executed, and shameful records, which is ironic since Craig Owens has improved notably AND legend Thomas Erak has signed up. Not like Erak is even used to 15% of his potential anyway.

1.5 very poor | ILJ | March 24th 14 | I'm not even going to try to finish this. 3 AM is probably the worst thing I've heard in a while. God awful, cheesy as fuck pop-punk complete with a piano and violin interlude because "we're oh so sensitive!"? No thanks.
It's become the Craig Owens show again, and the presence of Thomas Erak does little if anything to distract from his inability to carry the band.

3.0 good | Comatorium. | March 14th 14 | Erak is so under utilized, but I guess expecting a single member addition to result in too drastic a change was foolish. There are some decent shreddy parts and Craig's vocals aren't as nasally and whiny as they once were. I just cant help but feel like this would've been was more relevant coming after "All's Well" or "Bone Palace Ballet"

1.0 awful | RxQueer | March 30th 14 | Can't dig this at ALL. Illuminaudio was pretty fucking great, but this motherfucker is just appalling. Craig Owens was and will always be one of the most annoying voices in Post-Hardcore. Erak was SOOOOOO underused in this release. Like seriously, what the fuck Chiodos? Start making real Post-Hardcore shit. Start by listening to some 90's substream hardcore.

0.0 | hahGAY | March 25th 14 | They have some stuff that sounds like Boys Like Girls, some stuff with super heavy breakdowns complete with pig squeals, and then they top it off with awful lyrics similar to the stuff he wrote in d.r.u.g.s. i would hate it if I wasn't a fan of the band and Craig. Illuminado was so mature for them then he just came and angsted the hell out of them again.

3.0 good | immortalizepain | March 14th 14 | It's kinda lukewarm. IDK. Recruiting Thomas Erak didn't help save this band from Craig Owens' ego.
Unsurprisingly, "heavier" songs are good, e.g. Ole Fishlips Is Dead Now, Expensive Conversations In Cheap
Hotel Rooms. Needs a lot of those though. And I'm loving Under Your Halo.

2.5 average | c0nf1n3d | June 21st 19 | It was truly exciting back in 2014 hearing a new Chiodos record with Craig Owens back as the frontman - coupled with the addition of lead-guitarist Thomas Erak from The Fall of Troy. The pure shock value of the record alone was getting praise at the time, but seeing as it's been 5 years since then...the record sadly hasn't aged well at all. Most of the songs come across as annoying, and the mixing on the record doesn't highlight any of the solid guitar work from Erak. No, this is just a more 'mainstream' Chiodos record...moreso than Illuminaudio back from 2010. There's some cool moments, there's some not-cool moments; all leading to truly an 'average' record. You'd think that this would be just the start for more great things to come, especially with Owens' line at the end of the album stating "I swear I'm different now"...but I guess that's just not how things went at all.

2.0 poor | ShaquilleONeal | February 5th 17 | The older I get, the more I realize how bad of a song writer Craig Owens is.

1.5 very poor | Jared Floryan | November 4th 14 | (4/21/18): You know all that evolving and progressing Chiodos managed to do on their third album? Illuminaudio marked the point in the band's career where they finally discovered a style that felt and sounded most comfortable. Up until full-length #3, the Michigan-based entourage's material was fairly inconsistent at best and downright obnoxious to listen to at worst. Once Brandon Bolmer and Tanner Wayne had joined the group, things seemed more than promising for Chiodos' future... then Devil occurred. Instead of going out with a majestic bang, this entourage could only conclude with a ghastly whimper; letting Craig Owens return whilst wasting Thomas Erak's talents didn't help. The dumbest moments on Bone Palace Ballet gain IQ points compared to how embarrassing the final studio outing is. "Why the Munsters Matter," "Behvis Bullock," and "Expensive Conversations in Cheap Motels" are decent songs to take away from Devil, but not above-average enough to compete with some of Chiodos' best tracks in existence (e.g. "Those Who Slay Together, Stay Together"). Fuck off, Craigery.

3.0 good | Kronzo | April 16th 14 | This new offering from Chiodos is solid at best. While it is a little boring at times, it's packed with catchy choruses and Craig Owens shows a lot of improvement compared to the first two albums. Thomas Erak's playing leaves a little bit to be desired, but the sprinkled leads are enjoyable. Illuminaudio still retains the title of the best Chiodos album, but I feel as if there are still great things to come from this group.

3.0 good | Jaime | April 9th 14 | I do enjoy this album quite a bit, I understand the harsh reviews because Bolmer really did bring Chiodos to a great new place, and it seems many are disappointed to see Owens come back, but regardless to be fair I enjoyed quite a few tracks.

0.0 | foramejora | March 17th 14 | Runs much in the same vein as All's Well That Ends well, imo. It's a throwback to early Chiodos, and it's done about as well as something like that could, in that it's mostly the Craig Owens show while other members, such as Erak, remain under-utilized. Could've been a lot better, but it's good.
