Stolen Babies is a hard-to-describe group, with a beauteous (and enigmatic) woman at the forefront. In 2006, they unleashed a wacky debut in There Be Squabbles Ahead, containing charming oddities such as circus-like tunes, some vicious growling this side of Dani Filth, and quirky - yet still intriguing - songwriting. While the eccentricism of Stolen Babies' first release is clearly questionable, the rest of the album's material is undeniably thrilling; though not enough to warrant more than perhaps two or three listens.

I liked the album, though with members of STGM I kind of expected something a little more interesting. All in all, I'll probably go back to Diablo Swing Orchestra for a sound like this one. Though singer Dominique Persi does have a nice vocal range and technique, and the band is real tight. A lot of good moments, definitely worth a second listen. Not enough to stick in my head and bring me back most likely.

Stolen Babies mixes cabaret with punk, metal, pop, and many other genres. Their sound has much more...ummm...personality then alot of bands out there these days, not to mention more talented.

Stolen Babies is indescribable. You can't label them as a certain "style" of music. With blaring accordions, often mixed with electric guitars and the lead singers whisperingscreaming vocals. The listener will either be disturbed or in love with this band. If you like bands like Fall out Boy and Hit The Lights, then don't listen to this. But if you want something unique and interesting, check out Stolen Babies.

Trippy. Weird. Colourful. These are some the words that come to mind when you're listening to this. The music is sometimes circus-like, sometimes hard rock, but always unique. This is, however, not my cup of tea. I like the music a lot; it's not showy for the sake of showy. The vocals are nice and she really has a nice tone to it but when she starts shrieking and screaming that's when I cover my ears. I'm sorry but women vocalists who employ the shouty-shriek thing makes me wish (sometimes) I was listening to Cradle of Filth's Dani Filth instead. The best songs are definitely the sombre-sounding and dulcet-tinged Lifeless and the song that embodies the band perfectly, Push Button. It took me awhile to get used to the band's sound. I expected to be blown away but instead I was given a gentle tap on the head.

A most unique album for the most unique of metal heads. These poppy, strange, and brilliant musicians managed to create an album of pure neurotic psychosis! Imagine Neonism era Solefald fronted by a fiesty female vocalist and playing occasional evil circus music. Stolen Babies is much like their fellow The End bands Unexpect and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, only 3x better at songwriting. Every song has powerful oddball instrument dynamics and carry unique, thick atmospheres that personally scared me at first. The frontwoman has a very powerful, scrachy scream but backs it up with an equally powerful, beautiful singing voice. This album will surely leave a mark on all who listen to it with an open mind (or not).
