I can appreciate this album a lot for what it has to say, but knowing that black star came out like the year before puts into context how much Mos can put into concise project. Im really sure this did not NEED to be an hour and ten minutes. Brooklyn was the original sicko mode tho so props for that

Mos Def's solo debut is entirely brilliant. One cannot go wrong giving this or Black Star a listen.

Who does'nt like Mos Def and Black on Both Sides. Mos is number 69 on the list of Stuff White People Like. This is one of those albums you can put on shuffle and expect greatness.

this guy is so damn overrated. this is his only "good" album. he has 3 others and they all suck and even this isnt that amazing. most of the songs are boring/uninteresting. most of it isnt even rap just useless filler tracks like umi says and rock n roll. truly lazy. hes one of the laziest rappers ive ever heard. he reuses verses and beats and most songs are just filler.
