Even though the lyrics are terrible and Kai Hansen's vocals are straining with age, this is an undeniably good power metal album. "Avalon" is a must-hear. The album's biggest con is how much it rips off other bands. Multiple Judas Priest songs are directly ripped off throughout the album, most notably on "Hellbent," and the song "Time for Deliverance" sounds just like Queen's "We Are the Champions." The band still manages the overcome these flaws to craft a great album, power and attitude give this album its rating.

As expected, power metal's inventor Kai Hansen returns with no surprises, but it's always a pleasure to hear one of the most influential European heavy metal artists of all time. Avalon is the most interesting song on the album.

There are a few moments of brilliance, but this is mostly boring, mostly lethargic and Kai Hansen's voice still gets on my nerves. Bring back the vocalist (and energy) from the first three albums!
