How far this band has fallen since Artwork, which in my opinion is one of the most underrated grower albums ever. This album just really really blows. Very soft and uninspired and overly polished in a bad way. Only track really worth checking out is the Revolution.

During the Imaginary Enemy recording sessions, Bert McCracken must've been asking himself and the rest of his bandmates, 'Do we feel OK? We look pretty low - very handsome awkward'. Honestly speaking, The Used's decision to utilize darker, more political themes whilst straying far from those post-hardcore roots wouldn't be that utterly heinous had they not run out of advanced steam. The Utah outfit assembled an assortment of lifelessness stored within a box full of sharp objects.

I don't care what you say, this album has great tracks on it. If you were a fan of the early years of The Used, please listen to this album a few times before making up your mind about it, it is definitely a grower. Though I'm not sure if I'll still be listening to the entire album in a few weeks or months, but right now, these songs are super addictive: Revolution, Cry, Make Believe, Evolution, Kenna Song.

Imaginary Enemy is Katy Perry with guitars, with the only exception being "Revolution" and "A Song To Stifle
Imperial Progress". The Used go full on pop with hardly a nod to their heavier roots and the results are bad -
very bad.
Seriously though, if I wanted to listen to a Katy Perry album, I would listen to a Katy Perry album. Why is the
new The Used album a Katy Perry album with guitars? Embarrassing. Reach for the radio, boys! Reach! Grab
those airwaves.

Like, idk. This album just came off as very cringy and gimmicky. The Used just don't seem like they're being genuine or their new direction comes off as very premature. This is an album i wouldn't even be okay listening to alone. There's only like three good songs.

An amazingly disingenuous attempt at radio pop. The plethora of former pop-rock and metal bands jumping on the electro-radio bandwagon is disconcerting, to say the least. "Generation Throwaway" is the worst song of 2014.

If it were possible to give this album a rating of 0 I would do it in a heartbeat, this is literally an over-polished piece of crap. It's no surprise about The Used's pop tendencies but this has become a little too drastic of a change, especially with those top 40's esque group chant vocals. This album will completely alienate long time fans, even in the efforts to bring it back to their heavy roots, it's just laughably bad. Congrats boys, you have lost a fan whose been with you from the beginning!
