While the band are showing age in the vocals department, the melodies are as strong as ever, with the production as crisp and drum/bass section as punchy as ever. Overall, the album is a small step up from Whirlwind - while it's not as conceptually realized, it's also not burdened by an overbaked concept and endless refrains. It'd be nice to see the band try to do something truly "progressive", but at least they're consistently great at what they do
