Thoroughly terrible and at times torturous to listen to, Three Days Grace's debut album is saturated with power chords, root notes, and whiny lyrics that sound either forced or just flat-out ridiculous. To say that the lyrical content is angry or pissed off is clearly an understatement - how many ways can a band write an 'angry' song without resorting to the same style and structure that this band does? You could get away with maybe two or three... but twelve tracks?! The album grows stale on you, and FAST. "Now Or Never" and "Just Like You" are the lone gems, but it's like comparing dog shit to horse shit: you could say that one is better than the other, but in the end, it's still shit. Far and away, one of the worst purchases I have ever made.

Just Like You is a good song. Then there are a lot of bad songs on this album, And that really sucks because I really wanted to like this album. The problem is everything sounds honestly like every other radio rock song I've heard since Pearl Jam first made headway, so I really don't know what to make out of this album. Maybe if I made out with the case it would help. No, it really doesn't. So, its angsty and suffocatingly bad. And the cd case tastes like spaghetti. But that might just be me...

Let's see. I've got "(I Hate)..." and "Just Like You," even "Take Me Under" as pretty good tracks. The rest is close to pure crap Don't buy this. I haven't put this disc in my player in over a year. Use the money for KFC, or somethin'. It's not only generic, but it reminds me of nails on a chalkboard. Or having a girl tell you she wants to be friends.
But not quite as bad as having your best friend's Mormon mom have the police hunt you down at 3am for alleged "public drunkeness (is that right?) of a minor" while she has sex with her "friend" (also a Mormon woman) before crushing your freind's hand in the door for drinking in her house, then calls your mother the next day to "tell her what's really going on" even though you had driven yourself home while you were "piss drunk."
But it's close.

It's music such as this which receives about as much mockery as it does applause. Three Days Grace' self-titled debut album might as well be the embodiment of whiny, petulant bands whose messages don't hit as hard as they used to (e.g. Linkin Park and Seether). Three Days Grace suffers from a lot of things, whether it be the over-the-top wangst or the formula being nothing more than tried and true. To the band's credit, their first album does pretty well in resembling imperfection, and it's also home to a guilty pleasure which won't ever be lived down: "(I Hate) Everything About You".

As true as thesystemisdown's review was, I cannot help but rate this album as being higher than average... Oh sure, there are some tracks worth highlighting on this album (ex: Home), but there are highlights that by near equivalence just halt every worthwhile track on this album (ex: I Hate Everything About You). Having an album w/ a good to bad ratio of 1:1, and songs having little to no instrumental differences, make for a pretty "eh" album in my ears. Personally, most of the hooks kept me from enjoying this album... Still, best to highlight the better tracks: 5, 6, (parts of) 9, 10, 11, and 13.

In these days, I think Three Days Grace is generic and boring. But, this band introduced me to Metal(enough to say that they aren't metal)rScared, Burn, Take Me Under and I Hate Everything About You are a good listen, and bring me a feeling of nostalgia.

I remember purchasing this album years ago. Merely hearing "I Hate Everything About You" and "Just Like You", I thought I would enjoy the rest of the album. However, this was not the case. "Home" was the only other song on the album I even remotely liked. The rest was unforgettable slop. Three Days Grace has never been an outstanding band. Somehow, they managed to get a little recognition within the mainstream music scene, and their career slowly skyrocketed. Still, that doesn't mean the music was good, and this album is a perfect example of that.

Their debut album is nothing compared to One-X. This album has it's moments, but unlike One-X, this album gets boring after about 6 songs. If you are considering getting this album, I advise make sure you hear One-X before it, otherwise it could leave your ears aching at times

Three days grace First Rise. They had many good songs on this Album Such as The First 5 songs. The Album had some low points but All in all This does good. Three days grace is an alright band and is Acctually good to listen to even if you love metal more then rock. Though i would suggest their newer album over this one. This Album Does fall out after the first 5 or at least to me.
