| 3.5 great | XfingTheSullen | December 5th 11 | The first album by Torchbearer, being the least melodic and varied of them all, but possessing very prominent influences from the three heaviest brands of extreme metal - a textbook effort on how to mix thrash, black and death. Not to mention it's good.

| 3.0 good | Dethtrasher | May 6th 09 | Yersinia Pestis is the debut album from the Swedish band Torchbearer. Torchbearer delivered blackened death metal and the album concept was about plague, sickness and death, but the result was not exactly successful. Most of the riffs sound quite awkward and bland, the drums are poorly produced and the harsh vocals just don’t suit the music. The only track that actually stands out is Thus Came Dying Unto Kuffa. That track is extremely good compared to the rest of the tracks. Yersinia Pestis will not amaze the listener at all, it is just above-average generic blackened death metal.
