Previous records such as Dirty Mind, Controversy, and 1999 showcased his
talents as a guitarist, an incredibly sensual vocalist, and a songwriter, but Purple Rain
had the huge scope to take the throne as his pop opus. Stand tall as one of the best pop albums of
all time, and one of the greatest records of its decade and all time.

Basically as great of an '80s pop album as you can get. Well, besides Kate Bush's two masterpieces in the first half of the decade-you can guess which ones, can't you? It takes a while to get into Prince, as he's flamboyantly sexual, freaky, and manic, but good God, this is surreal music that transcends what pop really is. Title track is a masterpiece, of course.rA+

This album is one of the invaluable gems of the 80s'. One cannot simply point out a bad song in this album. All of them are exceptionally good. Although a couple including "Computer Blue" and "Baby I'm a Star" fall on the decent line, they do not take the charm away from the album and are good in their own rights.

This album is a great example of why I am a pop fan. The best pop combines creativity with accessibility so well. I admit I do not like all his albums, but this is one of the best albums ever. RIP Prince - gone too soon.

One of the best albums of all times. OK than...rThis music is so sweet, that after listening to it I need no more sugar to my coffee. And it is so heartbreaking, that I even don`t need no more coffee, because my cup broke.rEighties radio music is really nothing I`d be looking for... even if this one may have high quality, it just doesn`t work for me...rCorrection 2023: after few listens and few hits from the bong, i must say I really enjoyed it! Guitar orgies included really got me!
