This was great fun. Not their strongest, but still a mega solid tech thrash album. (I loved the opener so much! More ambient, please!)

Fantastic tech-thrash record. Before the milestone of the genre that Rust in Peace would be, Voivod and Coroner were pioneering it with great albums like this and Killing Technology. This album is incredible, and eventhough their peoduction and songwriting might not be at its best yet, the twchnical riffing and neoclassical influences more than make up for it.

Don't let attractive intro fool you. Afterwards, you get sucked into Coroner's first impressive album which spirals in and out of dynamic tempos and riff structures, and for a first effort, it's quite ambitious and well played. "Reborn Through Hate" never stops riffing with intensity and features busy drum work and their signature growling vocals. "Nosferatu" is an incredible instrumental displaying a highlight in their genre-defining guitarwork. They don't quite achieve the larger-than-life ambition of their future works here, but it's a pretty awesome start for one of the genre's greatest innovators.

This album "R.I.P.S". Great musicianship throughout. Nosferatu is probably one of my favorite guitar tracks of all time.

Counting the intros to songs as separate tracks just feels like blatant padding to me. That's just a minor thing that bothers me, though. Cool album.

With more straightforward song structures, R.I.P. is not quite as sophisticated as
Coroner would become later on. Still, this is a genuinely great start for some of the best
thrash metal bands ever. If you enjoy GOOD to-the-point thrash metal with technical guitars,
don't miss this!
