classic canadian album that devolves from trv metal with a highlight in metal on metal to filler prog until finally generic radio butt rock

METAL ON METAL is undoubtedly the album I'll always associate Anvil with. I was first introduced to Anvil by the drummer
in my first band back in 1985. While I'd never considered these guys to be a top shelf band, this album has enough
highlights to make it worthwhile listen. I will concede that they were among the progenitors of the whole Thrash movement
as evidenced by tracks like "666". "Metal On Metal", "Mothra" and "March Of The Crabs" are my personal favorites, but
"Tag Team" is pretty funny.

Classic and influential record. The title track is my favourite song here. Robb Reiner was a reference to many early thrash drummers like Lars Ulrich or Charlie Benante.

Anvil sounded so fucking evil back in the day. I thought that they were the Satan-worshipping sex fiend warrior perverts of metal. But nowadays, this is decent at best. However, LIVE, they still got it.
