It's surprisingly hard to tell where it ends and begins with Miley Cyrus. She's Billy Ray's daughter, but unlike him, Miley's usually been comfortable with corporate-laden pop music courtesy of the soul suckers at Disney. This mostly changed when Can't Be Tamed entered the fray, though people could still tell that the girl's needed a shitload of growing up to do; she botched Poison's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn", by the way. As the dance move known 'round the fractured world as twerking got more popular thanks to her (and probably Vine), that's when Bangerz came rolling along. Miley does a better job at embracing the mature image she's now craving for, but a number of the songs off this album still have a tendency to grate on your nerves (e.g. "SMS" and especially "We Can't Stop"). Thankfully, there exist certain tracks like "Rooting for My Baby," "FU," "Maybe You're Right," and "#GETITRIGHT" that have a surprisingly unavoidable charm. In conclusion, Cyrus' fourth studio recording may possess flaws - and there are many - but Bangerz at least showcases her ability to put one foot in front of the other.

Kudos for trying to deliver a diversified album with many influences. Shame everything is smashed together with little coherence and some songwriting issues - eg "Adore You" deserves a proper climax. Also the brostep bits already sounded out of date in 2013.

This album is proof that you can write complete shit, but as long as you act like a buffoon, people will buy your music. The stupid thing is that none of the songs are really that catchy. You can tell that all of these songs were written with zero thought, and were produced very quickly.

REGARDLESS OF THE HATERS, Miley is different. We all knwo that. She's changed, we know that, but some people jsut can't accept that and want her to be some other way, but she's just being her the way she wants to. IT's how she wants to express herself! She's different! I personally like Miley Crys. HEr old music was for 10 year olds but this is more mature and for a maturer adience.

With the exception of gorgeous ballad 'Adore You' and the sexy '#GETITRIGHT', Bangerz doesn't hold much thrill. When it does, it's fun and sorta smart, but when it isn't it's chocked with mediocre production, cheesy lyrics and careless guest acts that don't make it any more great.
