Pain of Mind is a very good hardcore album from Neurosis that has more metal style instrumentals. Love the bass on here. 2 Bumps \| Bump

Extraordinarily different then the stuff they got famous for, but it isn't a completely different world - Self-Taught Infection, with its prominent bass lines and swirling guitar lines sounds like a sped-up precursor to the sound they would go on to develop.
