The best Elton John album; yes, including Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Not only is this a more concise listen than GYBR, but it's a more consistent one, with a narrative to boot. Elton put a lot of time into this record in particular, and my god, does it show. Excellent, excellent record throughout. Track picks: "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy", "Tower of Babel", "Someone Saved My Life Tonight", "We All Fall in Love Sometimes", "Curtains"
