| 4.0 excellent | maninthebox | January 1st 14 | Some Depressing doom was really what I was missing this year, thank God I found these guys back in November (before I was getting all depressed without the proper soundtrack). Windhand's Soma is bleak, atmospheric, and most of all...Slow and Heavy. 10+ minute songs slowly move across the landscape while vocalists Dorthia Cottrell wails overtop like some tortured banshee. I have to admit though my personal highlight is the all acoustic Evergreen which is a nice switch from the usual drone and hit me right in the feels more than the other tracks. Best Songs: Evergreen, Woodbine, and Cassock

| 4.0 excellent | Asmodeuss1990 | December 18th 13 | This album is absolutely mesmerizing. Once you get sucked into the first few minutes you
won't even realize what happened about an hour or so later. Something about the hypnotizing
vocals along with the fuzzy riffage makes it so you can't stop listening. Makes you feel
lost in a thick marijuana haze. Would highly
recommend this to anyone who enjoys good ole stoner/doom metal.

| 4.0 excellent | Robert Davis | November 12th 13 | A nice slice of sludgy, hypnotic doom. 'Evergreen' is beautiful and 'Woodbine' is powerfully heavy. I really like how the vocals sound so mesmerizing at times too, as on the album opener 'Orchard'.

| 4.0 excellent | Voivod STAFF | September 8th 13 | In case anyone's wondering about how to delay the course of time, Windhand's female fronted, psychedelic stoner/doom metal is one of the best ways to do it...

| 3.8 excellent | Erwann S. EMERITUS | October 18th 22 | An excellently composed, produced, and played stoner doom record, Soma (yeah that's def stoner/doom shi) features heavy riffs with beautiful tones, ethereal vocals, and the occasional acoustic interlude to re-light that phat joint. Extremely competent, but ultimately more of an album for those who crave more stoner doom, not for newcomers.
