Brutallity,Emotion,and all around a musical beatdown. Antigone is the perfect blend of Metal and Hardcore with its heavy riffs and brutal screams.Tracks like Voice of the voiceless are just skull bashing and ear deafening with its all out mentallity,yet still being extremely catchy like the standout Tree of Freedom. Numbing The pain is the emotional track on here and just blew me away countless time after time. Anybody into metalcore should give this a try.

This is a great listen. If you can't find your Caliban albums, then you can't go wrong with this for some growly German metalcore to fill the gap. Grr. Woof.

This album really proved to me that you don't need clean vocals in every chorus to make quality melodic metalcore. Possibly the best album of this genre that I've ever had the pleasure to listen to.

i like this album alot, its heavy as f**k and has some really interesting ideas for a metalcore band.
the string intro to 'the weapon they fear' is beautiful, as are all the string arrangements on the album and i love some of the synth/electronic bits in there too
i also think this a fantastic Metalcore album, what i love is that they mix alot of the styles that make up metalcore like hardcore, metal and death metal seamlessly into one sound, so you can't pick out the hardcore bit or the metal bit in each song, it all blends together.
They also integrate the melodic parts seamlessly, unlike bands like Killswitch Engage, who have so many songs that are just heavy riffs and screaming during the verse and then melodic riffs and singing during the chorus, thats just become so formulaic and predicitble, so its nice to see HSB mixing it all together
My one gripe is that the album is too long, all the songs are around the 4-5 minute mark, alot of the time they just repeat the same riff or motiff again and it kinda felt like some of the songs could have ended a minute or two earlier. Like most metalcore albums i just tend to get a bit bored by the end of the album which is a shame as a band with so much variety in their sound could have had me gripped for the whole journey if only the songs had been cut down a bit.
But still a great listen, i'd highly recommend giving this a listen

This one is evil. A kicking bastard of Death Metal/Metalcore. The musical side is not really that innovative, deep riffs, highly distorted. BUT, check out them vocals! Not so much variation, but evil, grumbling screaming. Good stuff. Perfect soundtrack for a bad day
