This is just a goddamn black metal version of mallcore. Coming to a Hot Topic near you! Many of
the black metal songs are decent, but the notorious ballads are banal as fuck and fall flat. And
this is coming from somebody who likes that level of cheese.

It's pretty standard-quality black metal that suddenly wakes up and kicks ass for two songs, "The Child Must Die" and "They Rode On," before sinking into even more faceless tremolo-blasting-kvlt-whatever crap until it...ends.

Watain release something just better than acceptable. Who would've thought they would bring a little Metallica to their modern day black metal, no, I'm not talking a case of the Hetfield "Yeah's", rather the mellow ballad somehow highlights the album.
