Editors return with an album weighed down by its lazy, formulaic songwriting, unoriginal lyrics and a complete lack of energy, save for its lead single, which in itself is no more than a rehash of their past successes.

This is the most complete work of the Englishmen to date. They move away from the electronica sounds that ruled the previous album and finally establish a more consistent sound. Tom Smith sounds better than ever with his baritone voice overruling most of the songs. Tempo is slower in contrast to previous releases. This allows more emphasis to be placed on the music and the lyrics and the end result is great. Recommendations: "The Weight", "Sugar", "A Ton of Love", "Two Hearted Spider"

I've never heard any of this band's previous work, but from what I could gather, they're coming from an album largely seen as a disappointment. But those who approach this album with their minds made up negatively are missing out on a very enjoyable record filled with likeable tracks and a powerful leading voice. Very nice listen.
