Even those who aren't fond of melodic death metal really can't go wrong with Damage Done while fans of the band and/or genre will be in utter bliss. This is proof that, when a melodeath band handles their sound correctly and doesn't resort to tired traits, the results can be very effective. The music here is hard-hitting yet filled with melodies to give it an approachable, yet vigorously rewarding depth. Almost completely kinetic and never underwhelming, Dark Tranquillity truly outdid themselves here.

Part of a string of excellent melodic death metal records put out by Dark Tranquillity, Damage Done seems like the most concise example of the band's work up to this album's point. The songs are catchy, full of great melo-death riffs, and don't get much longer than 4:30 minutes or so, leaving a sense of flow to the disc. Definitely a good place to start if you're thinking about checking these guys out.

Another great album in Dark Tranquillity's catalogue. This one marked the beginning of a new sound, with faster riffage and more prominence from the keyboards. In a retrospective view it feels a little less excellent than its successors, but all in all is an excellent record. The songs I didn't enjoy that much were I, deception and the closer track, the rest are awesome tracks.

My favorite Dark Tranquillity album! "The Treason Wall", "Monochromatic Stains","Format C-For Cortex", "Cathode rain sunshine", "Hours passed in exile", "Enemy", "Single part of two", every song in the album is a masterpiece....Excellent production, melodies, guitars, riffs, everything in this album touches the perfection!

I can't believe no one had entered this album till I just did, I believe this was the masterpiece. There melody is amazing, the lyrics are also very good for a death metal band. My favorite songs on this album was "The Teason Wall", "Format C: for Cortex", and "Damage Done". Top to bottom this was a very well done album almost a classic in my view.
