The first instillation in this (hopefully) ongoing series, Dirty Sprite is an enjoyable tape from Future that is unfortunately marred by inconsistency. When it's good, it's fantastic, and the first half of the record contains several of these choice cuts. The sinister title-track segues into the celebratory "We Winnin'" wonderfully, and the immeasurably infectious "Racks" is still an all-time highlight for Future. The closer, "4 My People" is a great R&B-flavored track, while "Splashin'" comes in at just the right time to halt a bit of a lull the tape goes into. Elsewhere, it's pretty solid or somewhat uninteresting trap, lending a bit of credence to the notion that the tape is longer than it should be and looses gas near the end. It's interesting to see how much he's improved from not only a musical, aesthetical, and flow standpoint, but also the consistency level when comparing this to the second installment in the series.
