Fantastic instrumentals make up this rather thrashy and progressive album making it stand at a very high place among metal releases.

Again, another monsterous step forward musically from the last Fates Warning record, and as a result, the arguable birth of Prog Metal.Weird time signatures, complex, long and intricate structures and great instrumentation. It is all here. However, the album has some clear flaws, which unfortunately do not even concern the music. Arch?s vocals are really bad and also very low in the mix, and the general peoduction is proper bad. As a result this is a 4.2 for me.

Well it has even worse overly compressed and thin production, and songs can be overlong and disjointed at times and John is even more annoying, it is made up by better riffing, a unique atmosphere, pure baddassery at times and pretty much the entire song Exodus at the end.
