John Wesley Harding+Relaxing+Country=Nashville Skyline. Not much can be said about this one, it's really a soft album. You probably won't feel 100% comfortable while listening to it, since it does not really allow you commit to this new Dylan's universe (at least not easily). but there are a few songs that make this one an interesting piece:
1- Although Jonnhy Cash does not perform the song Girl From The North Country as well as Dylan, it's still a hell of a duet, and it's probably the most touching song in the whole Nashville album.
2- Nashville Skyline Rag makes you want to ride a bull and just travel on and on to the horizon with nothing but the clothes you are wearing and a big smile....
3-I Threw It All Away = Exeptional song, very good and delicious.
4- Lay Lady Lay it's a Dylan classic.
5- One More Night (sof and nice)
6- Tell Me That It Isn't True is my personal favourite... The narrator can't face the fact that his darling one is cheating on him, and therefore lies to himself, using the excuse of blind faith on words that can be said without any intention (it isn't true).
The duration of this album (aprox. 27 minutes) makes it very easy for you to listen to it without getting bored, and Dylan's voice here sounds soft, country and great.
You should not pass this one on! One of the best albums of 69 in my humble opinion (ranking beneath the huge "Birthday Blues" by Bert Jansch)
