Strong 2.5 - I don't know what happened between ,,Firestorm'' and this, but man did the band get incredibly bland and forgettable. ,,Firestorm'' opened up the doors for early metalcore, for 93 the album had totally new sound, and their take on metallic hardcore was insanely inovative, slower, darker and more ,,chuggy'' playing of the band was incredible, but the pinnacle of the band in my opinion was their vocalist, with high pitched hardcore-ish screaming he made the band heavy yet accesible at the same time. So what's changed ? The playing is pretty much the same thing as it used to be, the band is tight and the drumming and guitar playing still has the power that it used to have in 93. But the vocals this time around, are so forgettable, I don't know what happened, but it almost looks like the band was trying to get heavier, so their vocalist started using deeper and slower vocal technique, and it just made the band sound almost unrecognizable from most of metalcore of early 90s, what a pity. IMO the heaviness took so much fun from the band, mainly when unbroken did this sound MUCH more solid.
