| 4.1 excellent | Erwann S. EMERITUS | March 31st 21 | Film noir meets 70s NYC punks - and, no, it's not John Zorn. It's not as chaotic as the most hectic Naked City cuts either - and there ain't Yamatsuka Eye screaming at ya - and it's not punk musically, but the energy and the way the guitar is used (very Glenn Branca-esque) make this very much punk. It's got jazz's cool vibe, but there are instances of pure tension. It fucking rocks.

| 4.0 excellent | MrElmo | July 21st 13 | John Lurie, the kind a guy with as much cool as Tom Waits with whom he'll share a jail cell (Down By Law) on a crusade against the lounge world. Armed with a Saxophone and talented friends comes a very personal and at times experimental take on the class of Jazz. A.K.A: Good underground shit from New York's belly here.
