Subjective 5, because if it weren't for this album I wouldn't have cared about music. Got me into it when I was like 13.

Just got into the Halo games, and after playing 2, I decided to give this a listen (because of Blow Me Away). Honestly this album fucking slaps. I think it aged really well from when I used to dig this stuff. The melodies in every song are fantastic and memorable, and the big, emotional vibe to everything is pulled off surprisingly well for this type of thing.

Besides So Cold (and maybe Firefly), there's nothing here that you can't get from the more fun Saturate or more melodramatic Phobia. So Cold is still dope.

Dad rock at its finest. Most of their other releases are a recreation of the sound presented on this album, but this one does it best.

We are not alone is probably a step up from any Breaking Ben album. Its passionate, the riffs are usually pretty powerful and are heavy for radio friendly rock, and to top it off they aren't reliant on studio improvements and are still great live. They are generic and fall flat some times and only seperate themselves from other modern bands a small amount, but they play the generic rock to the best of their abilities.

First half came off pretty good, but then songs using "the yellow brick road" and "rain, rain, rain - again another day" (kids' rhymes), COME ON! This is just lazy song writing... (11/28/16) After hearing some Three Days Grace, I had to re-evaluate several post-grunge albums. Still not as stellar but at least offer some instrumentations (and occasional vocals) worth admiring. Most of the lyrics are still "eh" at best, but still sound better than TDG.

The 11-year-old in me still can't get over how emotional "Firefly" is, musically speaking. The memories of WWE: Day of Reckoning have decided to flood my cerebellum. Anyhoo, Breaking Benjamin's We Are Not Alone is no spectacular album; at its core, the record is your standard post-grunge effort that any band could've busted out, in all honesty. Even if this is so, these guys know how to conjure up in-your-face riffs without missing much of a beat. Frontman Benjamin Burnley's vocals aren't even remotely interesting, though his voice alone has sheer power and a little bit of a genuine aura. The production values are somewhat off, but in general, this type of quality gets along with the really nice instrumentation.

We Are Not Alone is a solid effort from Breaking Benjamin. As an album, it's sturdy and consistently paced; featuring themes that pop a spark in your imagination. The band's best offering thus far in their career.

IMO and excellent endeavor for the band after their debut entitled "saturate" which featured a decent alt metal/post grunge sound but with ultimatley poor lyrics.
This album steps up lyrical writing a fair bit as well as with much more memorable songs on this album. They sport a powerful sound and I like Burnley's voice which is deep melodic filled with desperation.
I enjoy this album

this is the one album i HAVE to get, the songs on this CD are amazing, Break My Fall gets an 11 out of 10 for me, along with Breakdown and So Cold...the great thing about this album is that they show how heavy they can go (Breakdown, So Cold, Away) but Ben really shows how well he can actually sing (Forget It, Rain) so by far, i might have to call this my favorite album O:

Breaking benjamin is a good band. Although some times they seem a little repetative. This album shows some of that. Although they show talent and do a very good job especially on so cold, sooner of later, and firefly. The point is Breaking benjamin is a good band with some good songs and this is a good album.

You should buy this album strictly for 'Firefly' and 'Rain'. The first is a great, simple rocker with a brilliant chorus and some intense drumming. The latter is a brilliant acoustic track you would not expect after hearing the rest of the album. They are two really different songs but make this album worth buying. Other songs like 'So Cold' and 'Sooner Or Later' are very good as well.
