To be honest, I am completely surprised with the comeback Bodom made on this album. Bodom fans all around the world were crossing their fingers with little optimism and preparing for the worst to come. I remember when a lot of people (including myself) were lying to themselves saying "RRF is a comeback! Bodom is back baybuh!" that is until we [fans of Bodom] finally realized shortly after that Bodom crafted another shitty album even if it was better than Blooddrunk - it's still not saying much. There were too many elements to count that were missing in the song writing formula that made Bodom who they were back in the day. As well as too much alcohol, which probably played a significant role as to why the previous 2-3 albums sucked - we all know how creative we can be when we're impaired beyond recognition.
It's safe to say that Bodom is finally back on the right track to create another classic that can sit by Follow the Reaper. However, this Finnish entourage still has a long ways to go to craft an album that will put them on the right path to greater success. Halo of Blood is just the first of many steps of improvement.

I totally expected this to be a giant turd, like the previous few albums. But it seems like these guys found some of that old magic and created a good album. "All Twisted" is an awesome song.

They are going through the motions of writing mediocre metal. They need to stop putting out albums, all they can do is write 1 decent song out of every 12 = lame.

Fuck me it's good to hear this band making good music again. Very reminiscent of their older stuff but retains rthe good parts of their newer albums. All Twisted has one of their most epic melodies since HB and FTR. rDefinitely their best since HCDR.

Waste of Skin 4; Title 4; Scream 2.5 hate that opening riff so much; Transference 5 epic; Blue Moon 3 generic for bodom, whats with the unnecessarily long ass title?; Days 3 another generic for bodom track; Dead Man's 3 cute/creepy track kind of awkward and odd for bodom; Damaged 2 pure filler track one of their worst ever; All Twisted 3 more generic bodom; One Bottle 3.5 generic but fun. sleeping in my car cover is pretty win

After two subpar albums COB rediscovers their roots and deliver their best and most consistent album since Hate Crew Deathroll. Epic melodies, good vocals, strong and powerful riffs all combined into songs that fill you with energy rather than boredom.

After releasing album after album with no lasting power, Bodom come out with a slightly better rone, but they're not quite there yet. They sound like they're trying to search for a fresh rsound rwhile still maintaining their trademark "feel". Maybe next time. Yes, I said that..I must radmit, rtheir earlier albums had a big impact on most of us metalheads because we keep giving this rband chance after chance.r"Waste of Skin" is not that great of an opener. I'd normally place a song like this somewhere rin rthe middle to pick up the tempo again and reinvigorate the listener.rSomething about the production aspect or the final mix of "Halo of Blood" didn't quite work rout. rThis would have been a pretty cool song otherwise.r"All twisted" sounds like them ripping themselves off. This song is so Bodom that it almost rsounds rlike a newbie band idolizing them. This is 2014, not 2003. Please stop making the same crap ragain rand again.r"Dead man's hand" is not such a great song, but its good that they're being influenced by bands rlike Hypocrisy with their slow song style on certain songs, so I guess it's a step in the right rdirection as far as that's concerned. r"Transference" seems to be the only good song on this album. I don't care enough to write down rwhat I think about the rest because almost all of it was really dull.rEdit: Damn! I was right on the money with "Dead Man's Hand"! Peter Tagtgren is the vocal rproducer for this album. I'm sure he had something to do with that song.

Best record they have released in a long time. I enjoy the darker tone of this album and less emphasis on guitar wankery. They focused on riffs and memorable songwriting.

Corn on the COB have certainly improved from the last two albums. However, Halo Of Blood definitely has an Are You Dead Yet? type of vibe which may not be what the die hard fans have been waiting for.

they felt more like an overall band in this one compared to RRF. I did enjoy RRF, in fact most Children of Bodom. The only downside to this album I had was that it lacked in creativity. It seemed to be the same sound for every song. It wasn't a bad album, I felt they could explore more with their sound and their approach to song writing. The main song that hits me is "Scream for Silence". To me it's perhaps the closest thing to traditional Bodom on the album. rOverall, it wasn't a bad album, just lacking creativity.

Transference was okay - nothing THAT special, but it has grown on me after a couple of listens. Halo of Blood was fucking awesome, and I listened to a leak of Bodom Blue Night and The Days are Numbered...all I have to say is if these four songs are any indication of the rest of the album...Bodom will quite possibly make the jump from a 2nd tier Melodeath band to a 1st tier. Giving it a 4 for now since I haven't heard the rest.
