(10/23/18): What's worse than an underwhelming MSI album? The answer to that is a weak, spineless and overall boring follow-up MSI record, which their fifth studio release is. As many issues as it had, I wouldn't call If a total waste of time; hell, compared to How I Learned to Stop..., the previous LP is like Ron Perlman's acting career in quality. This is essentially the final product of a band running dangerously short on ideas *and* shock value to boot. Now if you'll excuse the person who created this sound-off, he's gonna go pretend these last two Mindless Self Indulgence offerings never existed.

and Love Mindless Self Indulgence by Mindless Self Indulgence: It's intentionally
comical music that doesn't put the dumb humor over the quality of the music.
Industrial music hasn't been this stupid and simultaneously kick-ass since Revolting
Cocks were relevant. It's unhinged insanity, and it's well-aware that the only way to
keep the early 2000s scene of neo-goth punk alive in some form is to make fun of
itself and crank the volume up. This album surpasses many modern industrial acts
of its ilk solely because of how ridiculously unrestrained and surprisingly powerful
the riffs and synth assault are, while also never taking itself seriously. Think Atari
Teenage Riot meets Skinny Puppy, Pigface, and Does It Offend You, Yeah?, throw in
some thrash and comedy hip hop, and bingo, you've got a glitzy, crude, and
shameless hell of a good and diverse time.
