2.0 poor | intotheshit | March 26th 13 | Bland as all fucking fuck. While the cleans are fine, the harsh vocals are terrible. Jesse has lost it. The musicianship is top notch and the production is superb, but the songs range from decent to downright boring.

3.0 good | Sempiternal1998 | March 19th 13 | Why do you guys keep rating an album WITHOUT listening to it in it's entirety? It hasn't came out yet, it hasn't leaked, so who already rated this as "Classic", "Superb" or anything else is a moron.

4.0 excellent | Surtur | March 26th 13 | They sound completely revitalised, and Jesse's vocals are excellent. This is easily better than their last two albums and maybe equal with TEOH, but they'll never touch AOJB.

0.0 | Poltergeist28 | February 12th 16 | The first four songs on this are some of the best the band have ever released and with the return of Jesse Leach the band seem to have a new lease of life. However the majority of the album feels bland and generic in spite of the excellent performances making the album as a whole fall flat.

2.5 average | DjentyNerdo | September 1st 14 | While pushing forward with a old/new vocalist and a more mello-thrash based sound first heard in Adam and Jessie's side project, Killswitch Engage pulls off an emotional but ultimately forgettable release. Most will see, like myself, their lead singles are the only saving grace for these once captivating artists.

3.5 great | Xenorazr | August 9th 14 | With the reintroduction of Jesse Leach, Killswitch Engage create a successful return to form, if being a bit shy of triumphant. Disarm the Descent is most concerned with fixing the wrongs and woes of before, and though the consistency is enjoyable, it leads to a routine and, ultimately, streamlined experience. Disarm the Descent loses staying power by doing nothing to ultimately move the band's long-established sound forward, which can be understood, since they're rebuilding themselves. They just better make the next album really push.

3.5 great | Ghost22446 | July 1st 14 | A great comeback of Killswitch Engage with Jesse Leach. They made a good mix of agressivness of "Alive Or Just Breathing" and melody of Howard Jones-era KsE records. Definitely, one of the best metalcore records of 2013.

3.5 great | Deuce8311 | November 4th 13 | All in due time indeed. The return of original frontman Jesse Leach was well worth the wait. Though Howard Jones may be one of the best if not the best vocalist in metal, it was evident that the band was beginning to sink into a creative slump on their last album. The return of Jesse brings a sort of revitalization back to a time when these guys were considered one of the best around. It would be impossible to match the magnitude of AOJB, but Killswitch does provide a fun and sort of nostalgic record with plenty of meaty riffs and catchy choruses capped off by the excellent production of Adam D.

3.0 good | pbass0 | October 10th 13 | Certainly better than the excuse for an album "KSE II" was, but it is still held back on the fact that it leans on a strong chorus too much. With that being said, Jesse Leach is stronger than ever.

4.5 superb | DrKok2Puss | May 6th 13 | Jesse Leach returns with AWESOME vocals! He covers about every kind of scream you could imagine and also provides the passion KsE fans have come to expect from him in the cleans. BLAST BEATS! Awesome guitar work throughout the album. If you're looking for great metal/metalcore then don't let any Howard bias deter you from Disarm The Descent.

3.0 good | pepster50 | April 16th 13 | Entertaining, but nothing that hasn't been done before. No noteworthy tracks. Alot of the same.

3.5 great | MasBarHigeuoris21 | April 16th 13 | Just about every song on this album is good. This is easily the best KSE since TEOH. Didn't expect them to come back with an album this good after that last horrible album they released but somehow, they did.

3.5 great | OldCrime | April 9th 13 | No longer fixated on the darkness, but still a solid metalcore album.

0.0 | breakingthefragile | April 6th 13 | I wouldn't have minded Jesse making a return if his plans weren't to mimic Howard in virtually every way when he did. The original vocalist for Killswitch Engage doesn't make any attempt to move the band into a fresh direction, or even harken back to the sound of their old days. Instead, Killswitch just kind of shifts into neutral and goes nowhere. The band resumes making music as if their second lead singer might as well have never left, as Jesse seems to be doing everything he can to replicate him. This is only mediocre melodic metalcore that's been done to death already a thousand times over. But at least it's no worse than the countless other things that sound just like it; though it's certainly no better.

0.0 | Scamp4553 | April 2nd 13 | Listening to Killswitch Engage is like getting spoiled with things you like. Listening to this new record, "Disarm the Descent" is like getting spoiled with things you like constantly for weeks and weeks. This time around, Jesse Leach returns to the band, and it really pays off. This is probably the best album of 2013 so far. There are heavier beats, beautifully spine-chilling guitar riffs, and much cleaner production on this album than even "As Daylight Dies", which is my favorite KsE album of the Howard Jones era. Safe to say, Killswitch Engage is killing much more than All That Remains is for sure.
