Somewhat run-of-the-mill, certainly not groundbreaking; but in all honesty, that doesn't detract from Device being a solid effort.

I think some of the material on this album, like "you think you know" and "vilify show how much potential this band has, although a few tracks let it down. Solid first album

One can only go so far as to label this record 'Disturbed with electronics'; when your name is David Draiman and you have founded such a side project, these comparisons don't go over anybody's heads. Draiman's vocals here are as good as ever and Device includes an acceptable cover of Nine Inch Nails "Wish". Beyond that is a typhoon of blatant genericism which hardly lets up, so there isn't much else to talk about.

True, this is not David Draiman breaking any boundaries musically. However, if you're easy to please whenever it comes to Disturbed-related material, then you're in for a treat. If you are a fan of Nine Inch Nails, you will enjoy the bits of electronic music thrown in the mix. If you enjoy Disturbed, you will like the familiar song structures. If you expect Deftones-like progression, you will be severely disappointed.

I know how this will make me look, but I actually like Draiman's vocals. The problem is he keeps attaching himself to horrendously generic sounding music.
