If the production and vocals were better, The Gallery would be far and away the band's best album, and is already worthy of the classic status it has. The guitarists give what is easily the performance of their career, and even despite having just recently picked up the microphone, Mikael Stanne does a more than decent job. What's more, there's tiny little surprises in the album that make it all the better: the closing piano in "Punish My Heaven", the female vocals in the title track, or the slow bookends of "Lethe". All in all, a thoroughly amazing, groundbreaking and classic album - if you don't have this, there's a sad 11-song gap in your collection.
