You know what? After finishing this album, I was left with only one unsettling thought - that I couldn't really understand the music here. Which isn't a bad thing. It's similar to the feeling, when you're explained for the first time, that the Earth is just a pale blue dot in the vast universe, which houses uncountable numbers of other planets, stars, galaxies... And then you're left with jaw dropping realization, that everything you knew before pales in comparison to this new knowledge. And after listening to Neurosis, I understand just how little I indeed know about music.

Haunting and powerful masterpiece. The epitome of well done atmospheric metal. rI gave this another listen recently and decided to 5 it. Fuck it. This album is fucking phenomenal and worthy of all possible praise. 10/10

This is the second case of ratings manipulation I've come across on this site. I wanted to rate this horribly boring album 1/5, but a white page pops up saying "No". I like early Neurosis, but this shit sucks and I'm being forced to rate it 2/5.

The Eye of Every Storm sees Neurosis striking an excellent balance between ambiance and pounding doom. Once again though, some of the buildups can be a bit long for personal taste.
