I give this album a 4.5 even though on record it's probably a 4 or even a bit lower. The album does a great job at conveying P//M's sound, but where they really come into their element is the live experience. Having heard cuts of this album live, it is some of the most overwhelming, suffocating, and cathartic domination of doom imaginable. It's a shame that effect cannot be achieved through your car stereo system.

This is some evil, down-tuned sludge mixed with a tiny bit of black metal and and hardcore. The album is well executed, and the vocals match the music perfectly. Rarely does slower music keep my interest for very long, but Primitive Man is easily able to make me listen over and over again.
