| 4.5 superb | Voivod STAFF | August 9th 14 | In 1980, Greek director Pavlos Tasios (R.I.P.) filmed Παραγγελιά (The Song Order), the real story of a blue collar worker who, one night in 1973, committed a "crime of honour", which appalled the whole country at that time. For the film soundtrack, poet Katerina Gogou (R.I.P.) and acclaimed Greek composer Kyriakos Sfetsas joined forces and crafted Στο Δρόμο (On The Road), a devastating film score, a score that hasn't aged a day, despite its 33 years of existence. Gogou's vitriolic/profound proze about social discrimination and mental frustration is superbly blended with the magnificent progressive/psych/jazz/folk rock compositions of Sfetsas. Those searching for little diamonds buried by the dust of time, should check this out asap, even if they can't understand the Greek language. The album was reissued in early 2014 by the Greek branch of Capitol Records.
