4.0 excellent | Gene Gol-Jonsson CONTRIBUTOR | June 29th 21 | The Joy Formidable push their hard rock and shoegaze selves into a collision and make a catchy, likeable lo-fi-in-name-only records. Its flaws mostly center around some more repetitive cuts and a bit wonky production, but the good far outweights the frumpy.

5.0 classic | MikeDominguez | June 8th 13 | Truly an overlooked gem. Expansive and epic, the album grabs you and doesn't let go all the way through. The guitar work is impressive, the lyrics are great, there's a lot of variety, and is in general, just great

4.0 excellent | Ziio | February 5th 13 | Not so much a step forward, as a refinement. The Joy Formidable make no huge leaps to change their sound, but instead they focus what they started on The Big Roar. To a certain extent, the long outros are missed, but the tighter songwriting more than makes up for that.

0.0 | HeyListen | January 18th 13 | Was really surprised by this. Definitely worth a listen if you like bands like Eisley, the Jezabels and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

3.5 great | iGuter | January 18th 13 | A heavier rock anthem for the Alt-rock trio and opens up the new year with a loud bang.
